Meet DayOne
Darin Scott
Darin Scott helps coordinate all DayOne Events and relationships with program partners such as the Noel Project, Operation Backpack, and special missions projects. He was born in Anderson, South Carolina and shortly thereafter moved to Cleveland, Tennessee where his father, Tony Scott, attended Lee University to study for the ministry. In 1974, Darin's father moved the family to Toledo, Ohio where he served as pastor of Toledo Christian Life Center.
In August of 1985, Darin enrolled at Lee University and after auditioning was accepted into the world famous Lee Singers, and was soon traveling all around the world. Darin's excellent creative direction and team building skills for music and outreach have shaped and formed the great programs and ministry DayOne is able to bring to each of its events and ongoing special programs.
Shelly Justice
Shelly Justice was born in Richmond, Virginia and began singing harmonies at the age of two with her parents . Her first public performance was in her church in Martinsville, Virginia at age four.
During her childhood, Shelly performed in church plays and choirs. In high school, she became involved in show choir, small ensemble, marching band, jazz band and concert band. She attended college at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee and traveled with the Lee Singers, New Harvest and the Voices of Lee, a 16 member a capella ensemble. College also brought Shelly and her husband, Garth, together. Upon graduation from Cleveland High School, Garth attended Lee University where he traveled with the Voices of Lee, a sixteen member a cappella ensemble. Garth is presently the drummer for DayOne.
Shelly and Garth live in Nashville and have one son, Trey.
Natalie Kaye
Natalie Kaye was born in New Orleans and then moved to Pelham, AL where she attended Pelham High School and was actively involved in cheerleading, show choir, gymnastics, pagents, and sports. Natalie has been singing and performing since the age of three.
For Natalie, singing is both a passion and her calling. She sang as a guest for Winter-fest, a youth oriented conference, for seven consecutive years, and performed with artists such as Shania Twain.
Natalie attended Lee University and sang with Danny Murray and the Voices of Lee for four years. She now lives in Nashville, TN to pursue her dreams in music.
She is thrilled to be apart of Next Edition and DayOne's amazing ministry!
Josh Wood
Josh began his musical performance journey at the age of 15 when he performed the classic gospel hymn “His Eye is On the Sparrow.” He continued learning and developing his musical skills during High School through his participation in leading worship and exploration of songwriting.
Garth Justice
Garth is the husband of DayOne member Shelly and is also the drummer for the group. Garth handles all rehearsals with the band and is the road director while the group is traveling. Garth, Shelly and their son Trey reside in Nashville, TN.
Andrew Anderson
Andrew is native of Gastonia, NC and currently lives in Rock Hill, SC. He graduated from Lee University with a BS in Telecommunications, a minor in Music and in Religion. During his time at Lee he was member of a small a cappella group, Voices of Lee, directed by Danny Murray who have appeared on Good Morning America, Bill Gaither's Familyfest and Praise Gathering and in some of America's most noted churches and conferences such as Christ Church of Nashville, Tennessee. Andrew enjoys computers, video games, spending time with his closest friends and family, and going to live concerts.
Lici Brown
Lici Brown is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. She attended Lee University and sang with the Voices of Lee as 1st soprano for 4 years. Lici graduated from Lee in 2002 with a B.A. in Communications and served as the Minister of Music at a large multi-cultural church in Houston, TX immediately after graduation. Just before relocating to Nashville in 2003 Lici worked at Walt Disney World in Orlando,FL as 1st Soprano in the Voices of Liberty.
Since moving to Nashville to pursue music full time, Lici has become a professional lead and background vocalist. She has been featured on the recordings of numerous Christian and gospel recording artists such as Babbie Mason, Lynda Randall, Bill Gaither and the Gaither Vocal Band, Jessie Dixon, Phil Driscoll, Javen, Deitrick Haddon, and numerous Praise and Worship and Choral Publications for Word Records and Brentwood Benson music.
Lici has also performed live background vocals for R &B legends Michael McDonald, Pattie Labelle and also live background vocals for Christian and gospel recording artists Vickie Winans, Israel Houghton, Walter Hawkins, Natalie Grant, Michael English and Judy McAllister.
